Our History
Veteran salon owner Ava Hastey opened Amaz for Hair in 2002 with the intention of creating an intimate, upscale, and welcoming salon. Ava Hastey's penchant for artful serenity is reflected in the timeless boutique style decor. The ever present original artwork, fresh cut flowers, and plenty of natural light give the salon an open and uncluttered atmosphere. Our stylists have a combined 80+ years of experience with a multitude of specialties including; expertise in multiple hair textures, hair loss solutions, vivid and fashion colors, and advanced cuts. In addition to our in-salon services, Amaz for Hair provides styling for runway shows, film and television, editorial shoots, and other off-site services. Upscale Salon With A Relaxed Atmosphere

Our philosophy for fabulous hair begins from the moment you sit in our chair. Your stylist will collaborate with you to create the perfect style for you taking into consideration lifestyle, desired amount of upkeep, and long term goals. Our stylists can create anything from a low maintenance balayage, to a well kept cut and highlight, to a high intensity avant garde fashion color. Amaz for Hair uses only high quality products in-salon to ensure our services provide lasting results. We also provide a variety of in-salon treatments for all of your hair needs. Treatments can cover a range of needs from hair that needs a little shine, to intensive protein treatments for chemically damaged hair. Lastly, your stylist will create a long term plan to ensure your hair is always fabulous. Your stylist will create a personalized plan for future visits that fits your needs, prescribe a regimen of high quality products for at-home use, and provide education on styling and care between visits. Our focus on excellence means that we are committed to ensuring our Guests are satisfied with the results of their visit. This commitment is reflected in our encouragement for feedback, and two week adjustment period. Doing Our Part To Support Our Community
As a local business with deep roots in the Austin community, supporting our neighbors is an important part of our philosophy. Amaz for Hair regularly donates services to many Austin charities and fundraising events. Our walls are always adorned with original artwork from Austin artists. We always have a local suggestion for whatever you need. From the coffee in our cups to the places we order lunch, we do as much as we can to support our fellow Austin small businesses. |
